The Tennesse Titans entered the offseason over the cap number and had to make some moves to get under.

Well, they made three moves today that cleared close to $30 million in cap space.

The moves made today included releasing three players from their team.

Taylor Lewan, Robert Woods, and Randy Bullock were all released and now the Titans sit at $4.23 million under the cap.

Titans started the day about $25 million over the salary cap and, after today’s moves — releasing left tackle Taylor Lewan, wide receiver Robert Woods and kicker Randy Bullock — are now $4.23 million under the salary cap.

The Titans will most likely be looking to create more cap space before free agency.

So there could be a few more players that are on the chopping block.

Tennessee had a down year in 2022 and they need to improve their roster.

Releasing Lewan, Woods, and Bullock seemed like sure things for the Titans.

As those players were no longer playing up to their lofty contracts.

But, they were all starters that need to be replaced.

General Manager Ran Carthon is entering his first offseason with the team.

He will be looked upon to find some quality players to add to the Titans’ roster.

The NFL draft will be a great place to start as the Titans could benefit from getting younger.

Tennessee has two top 50 picks at 11th overall and 41st overall.

Carthon needs to hit on those picks to help get this roster back to playoff caliber.

Also, the Titans will have to make a tough decision on Ryan Tannehill.

Releasing him with a post-June 1 designation has to be in the cards.

If the #Titans want to move on from QB Ryan Tannehill, they can make him a post-June 1 cut and save $27M on the cap with a $9.6M dead cap hit.

It might be time for the Titans to start looking toward the future.

That begins with moving Tannehill and finding out what they have in second-year quarterback Malik Willis.
