The New Orleans Saints will look to have a bounce-back season in 2023 after their 7-10 record this season.

There are several position groups that the Saints will look to improve in the offseason to get back on track.

Fortunately for the organization, this morning, they were able to retain one of their key offensive linemen.

In the NFL, having a strong offensive line is the key to an efficient passing and rushing game.

Calvin Throckmorton answered one of the Saints’ many offseason questions today, as he signed a one-year deal.

The Saints have been rumored to be in the market for a new quarterback.

They didn’t seem to trust Jameis Winston at the position last year, and Taysom Hill is more of a utility player than a starting quarterback.

Although the upcoming draft is said to be loaded with intriguing quarterback prospects, the Saints might not have a chance to get their hands on a top-five option.

Unless they make a trade, the Saints are currently slated to pick 29th overall, severely hindering their chances at a marquee prospect.

If the Saints do have a new quarterback under center next season, an established offensive line should help that player succeed.

There is one looming issue for the Saints in 2023.

The Saints’ cap situation is the second-worst in the league.

As it currently stands, the Saints are nearly $45 million over the projected salary cap.

This severely limits their ability to sign a marquee free-agent quarterback unless they can shift things around.
