The NFL legal tampering period has opened, and many teams have already taken advantage of this early opportunity.
While the Los Angeles Chargers have been quieter than most, they did make an early-morning move for a key player.
Eric Kendricks has been signed to a two-year, $13.25 million deal with the Chargers, per Ian Rapoport.

Kendricks is an eight-year NFL veteran and has played for the Minnesota Vikings for his entire career.
2022 was one of the best seasons of Kendricks’ career, racking up 137 tackles, six defended passes, and one sack.
He will join a Chargers roster that is loaded with defensive talent, including superstars Joey Bosa, Derwin James, and Khalil Mack.
This is a relatively inexpensive contract for the Chargers, who gain a valuable piece to their already solid defense.
Even though the Chargers are making continued strides to get better, they are still in a division with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs have won the division for seven-straight seasons, and don’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
Will the Chargers be able to keep up?
The front office continues to support Justin Herbert, as they are keeping Keenan Allen and Mike Williams again in 2023.
Herbert will have support from his wide receivers, and now, the team is making more strides to attract top defensive talent as well.
The Chargers made the playoffs in 2022 for the first time in Herbert’s career.
Now that they have gotten a taste of the limelight, they will look to build on that success in 2023.
