The Arizona Cardinals continue to make moves to bolster their coaching staff.

After hiring Jonathan Gannon to take over as head coach, he continues to build a group of coaches around him.

The most recent hiring for the Cardinals was signing outside linebackers coach Robert Rodriguez.

Rodriguez makes the jump from college to the pros but will stay in the same state.

He had former stints in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings from 2015-19.

But, coaching this Cardinals linebacking corps might be his toughest task yet.

Arizona had one of the worst defenses in the NFL last season and needs to improve its roster.

Some of the linebackers Rodriguez will have to work with include Zaven Collins and Isaiah Simmons.

Both are young players that could flourish in the league with continued development.

Gannon has not wasted any time hiring a strong staff around him.

Even though he is a defensive-minded coach, Gannon said he will not call defensive plays next season.

Instead, that will be left up to their defensive coordinator Nick Rallis.

The Cardinals are in for a rebuilding season next year.

Anyone that thinks they are ready to compete in the NFC is mistaken, mostly because of Kyler Murray.

Their star quarterback is recovering from a torn ACL, and he will not be ready to start the season.

Next season is about development for the Cardinals, and hopefully, their new coaching staff will be able to do that.
