Rich Eisen Reveals A Rumor He Is Hearing About Packers

The Green Bay Packers have caved into Aaron Rodgers’ salary demands over and over.

You don’t want to risk your franchise player and future first-ballot Hall of Famer quarterback, so you make some concessions.

But as great as Rodgers is, it’s been more than a decade since they made it to the Super Bowl, and some of that fault has to fall on his shoulders.

More than that, his recent controversial remarks and his attitude toward his young teammates haven’t always been positive.

That’s why some around the league believe the Packers are ready to move on from him, as he’s threatened to leave for years now, and they can’t keep coping with his personality.

In fact, NFL insider Rich Eisen recently revealed that one of the hottest and most popular rumors around the league at the NFL Scouting Combine is that the Packers don’t want Rodgers to come back.

“The Packers sure hope Aaron Rodgers doesn’t come back,” Eisen said. “They sure hope that when he comes up with his decision, it is, ‘I wish to retire,’ or ‘I wish to be traded elsewhere.’ They do not want his response to be, ‘let’s run it back.’”

Rodgers underwent a four-day darkness retreat to imagine himself retiring or playing, whether it was with the Packers or somewhere else.

He claimed he was going to make up his mind and announce his decision shortly after, but that hasn’t been the case just yet.

The New York Jets are expected to be a heavy-hitter in the pursuit of Rodgers, especially after Derek Carr decided to sign with the New Orleans Saints.

So, if what Eisen says it’s true, it seems like the Packers’ asking price for their multi-time MVP won’t be as steep as some thought it would be.
