Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are well on their way to creating an NFL dynasty.

In his first five years as the Chiefs’ starter, Mahomes has two league MVPs, two Super Bowl MVPs, and three Super Bowl appearances.

Many have dubbed him as the next great quarterback in the league, the only player who can rival Tom Brady’s records.

While Mahomes certainly has a long way to go in terms of catching Brady, there is one statistical category that is well within reach.

In his three Super Bowl appearances, Mahomes has already thrown for 738 total yards, which is eighth all-time in the league’s biggest game.

He has passed NFL legends such as Troy Aikman and Roger Staubach and is rapidly encroaching on Jim Kelly, Terry Bradshaw, and Peyton Manning.

In his career, Brady threw for 3,039 yards in his ten Super Bowl appearances.

Mahomes has averaged 246 passing yards in his first three Super Bowls.

If he wants any chance of catching Brady, he’ll either need to appear in more Super Bowls or, start throwing for 330 or more passing yards per game.

The state of the NFL is in good hands at the moment.

Even though Manning, Drew Brees, and Brady have retired, the new age of quarterback is exciting, leaving the future of the position in a positive state.

They have been replaced by players like Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, and Jalen Hurts.

Will Mahomes and the Chiefs continue to build a Brady-like dynasty?

Mahomes isn’t going anywhere, considering his ten-year contract.
