NFL WR Prospect Says He Sees Himself In Giants “Blue”

The New York Giants need to address their thin WR corps in the upcoming NFL Draft.

As of now, they only have two wideouts under contract — Wan’Dale Robinson and Isaiah Hodgins — and neither of them figure to be a star.

Darius Slayton, Richie James, and Sterling Shepard will all be unrestricted free agents, and they have already pulled the plug on the failed Kenny Golladay experiment.

With that in mind, most scouts predict they’ll go after TCU star Quentin Johnston, perhaps the best wideout in this class.

Notably, the interest seems mutual at this point, as the 6’4” wide receiver raved about his meeting with the Giants and claimed that he’d meet with them again soon.

But more than that, Johnston made a bit of a blunt statement by saying that he can definitely see himself wearing blue.

“Very welcoming staff, had good talks with them,” Johnston said at the Combine. “I for sure see myself, if possible, wearing that blue just like I was in high school.”

Of course, this wouldn’t be new for Johnston, as he wore royal blue and white during his days at Temple High School in Texas.

Johnston later took his talents to TCU, where he starred thanks to his big-play potential and vertical playmaking skills.

He recorded 60 receptions for 1,069 yards and six scores for the Horned Frogs in one of the most shocking seasons in recent College Football History, although he wasn’t able to do much against Georgia’s suffocating defense.

The Giants currently have the 25th pick in the first round, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see Johnston gone by the time they’re on the clock, so they better step up if they want to dress him in royal blue again.
