McCourty played all 13 of his NFL seasons in New England, and he was a great player.

Across his career, McCourty made three second-team All-Pro teams and two Pro Bowl teams.

Every single game that he played in his career he started.

He was a perfect 205 for 205.

McCourty was a key cog in the Patriots’ defense for all three of his Super Bowl-winning seasons.

Throughout his career, McCourty recorded 35 interceptions.

He even had three seasons with at least five interceptions.

Some of the best seasons McCourty had in New England was when he played with his brother, Jason.

The twins were both safeties and helped lead the Patriots to the Super Bowl in 2018.

Devin was a first-round pick by the Patriots in 2010.

He lived up to the hype, and will one day be in the Patriots Hall of Fame.

It will be interesting to see how New England responds to not having their defensive leader next season.

Head coach Bill Belichick has always done a good job getting his defenses ready.

But, he will not have the luxury of an on-field coach like McCourty next year.

Both Belichick and Patriots owner Robert Kraft spoke very highly of McCourty as a player and person.

Words like “leader”, “intelligence,” and “professionalism” were all used to describe him.

McCourty was an important Patriot for a very long time and he will be missed by their organization.
