NFL Fans React To Today’s Chicago Bears News

By finishing with the NFL’s worst record this past season, the Chicago Bears earned the No. 1 overall pick in next month’s NFL draft.

It led many to wonder whether they would keep it and draft a quarterback such as the University of Alabama’s Bryce Young, or trade it away for depth and continue to move forward with Justin Fields under center.

It looks like they have chosen the latter.

Ian Rapoport has reported that Chicago is giving up the first pick to the Carolina Panthers for four picks, including the No. 9 pick in this year’s draft, as well as wide receiver D.J. Moore.

Terms:
The #Bears receive No. 9, a 2nd, a first in 2024, a 2nd in 2025 and DJ Moore. Carolina receives… The top pick. https://t.co/rEmHK7gOKz

Some fans are happy with the return the Bears are getting.

Great haul for Chicago and Fields

That 1st in 2024 could easily be a top-10 pick as well. Maybe a top 5.

I take it back…it will be a top 10 pick in 2024. Rookie QB and losing DJ? Yeah, they are going the Jag’s way(don’t blame them).

These fans, however, feel the Panthers gave up too much by agreeing to also include Moore, who was their best wideout.

This fan is enjoying the fact that some Bears supporters, on the other hand, are disappointed at the return in this trade.

Bears fans all over the internet in shambles they didn’t get 6 firsts from the Texans or Colts and now they won’t even get Anderson or Carter. Poverty, bottom of the barrel organization

Fields, who was in his second season in 2022, did an outstanding job of moving the chains with his legs by running for 1,143 yards and eight touchdowns this past season.

But the question with him is how much of a threat he can become while throwing the football, especially if Chicago gets him some reliable WRs such as Moore.

Fields completed only 60.4 percent of his passes in 2022 and threw 11 interceptions, which made for a dismal 3.5 percent interception rate.

Meanwhile, Carolina can now draft a potential franchise QB and give him a situation where he will be playing for a small-market team that has no real expectations in the immediate future.
