Jaguars Coach Comments On The Next Step With Trevor Lawrence

Trevor Lawrence was able to take a giant leap forward in production during his sophomore season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

One of the biggest reasons for increased success was a new coaching staff, led by Doug Pederson.

Pederson is a long-time NFL head coach and was widely believed to be instrumental in Lawrence’s development.

While Lawrence had a great season in 2022, there is always work to be done.

Pederson made a few comments about Lawrence at the combine, including how his young signal-caller can be even better in 2023.

“He can be better… I know that’ll be the challenge that he puts on himself.”

The Jaguars have committed serious resources to help Lawrence succeed in the league.

Before the 2022 season, the Jaguars signed Zay Jones and Christian Kirk, who are both great, developing wide receivers.

The Jaguars also signed Evan Engram, who established a great connection with Lawrence in their first year together.

While Engram hasn’t been officially signed back to the Jaguars, many believe that he will either be franchise tagged or signed to a contract extension.

Calvin Ridley was another addition for the Jaguars but hasn’t played yet due to his suspension.

When Ridley is reinstated to the NFL, he will be able to train with Lawrence and the Jaguars, preparing for the 2023 season.

Ridley hasn’t stepped foot on an NFL field in nearly two years.

However, if he can play similarly to his former abilities, he should be a valuable contributor to Lawrence as well.

The Jaguars will look to win the AFC South again next season, which would be just their third title in the last ten seasons.
