Aaron Rodgers’ status has been one of the main stories of the NFL offseason.
He has yet to decide on his future, which includes not yet giving any sort of answer or providing clarity to the Green Bay Packers.
Recent reporting has indicated that Rodgers has spoken with the New York Jets, per Trey Wingo.

This report was the first time that any definite news about the situation has broken.
Everything up to this point has been largely speculative, and the rumor mill has been running rampant.
After this news broke, NFL fans reacted accordingly, sparking online discourse.
Packers insider Andy Herman shared his thoughts on Wingo’s report, bringing up one of Wingo’s tweets from 2021.

At that time, Wingo had announced that, if the Packers were able to sign Randall Cobb, Rodgers would re-sign with the team.
Both of those things happened, which was an indication to Herman that Wingo’s sources might be on to something with the Jets conversation.
Rich Cimini provided further insight into this conversation between Rodgers and the Jets.
As Cimini highlights, “permission isn’t granted unless teams have agreed to trade compensation.”

If the Packers did allow Rodgers to meet with the Jets, this means that both parties have at least discussed the possibility of a trade.
For many Jets fans, this news has been a great gift.
