The Los Angeles Rams have just bolstered their coaching staff.

In need of a new special team coordinator, the Rams went out and hired Chase Blackburn.

Blackburn has coached seven seasons in the NFL with the Panthers and Titans.

Now he heads to Los Angeles to join a staff led by Super Bowl-winning head coach Sean McVay.

While this may be seen as a small move, the Rams need all the help they can get on their coaching staff.

After winning the Super Bowl in 2021, the Rams fell flat on their face this past year.

Finishing with a record of 5-12, there are plenty of questions surrounding this team heading into 2023.

Special teams were just one of many issues with their team.

The inability to stay healthy was what ultimately derailed their season.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Cooper Kupp each missed a substantial amount of time.

Stafford’s injuries are especially worrisome with him being diagnosed with a spinal cord contusion.

The Rams had to start four different quarterbacks last season with the final one being Baker Mayfield.

LA mortgaged its future for its championship in 2021, and now they are paying for it.

They have no first-round draft pick this year, and they have an old roster.

2023 might be their last run at it before they start a long rebuilding process.

All the Rams can hope for in 2023 is to stay healthy, and for their coaching staff to get the best out of each player.
