The NFL offseason, thus far, has been filled with many personnel changes.
While the league hasn’t seen any blockbuster trades or franchise tags up to this point, coaches are being hired left and right.
The Arizona Cardinals were patient in their head coaching search, waiting after the Super Bowl to hire Jonathan Gannon.
Now that Gannon has been hired, they’ve wasted no time filling out his staff.
The #Cardinals are hiring #Vikings assistant linebackers coach Sam Siefkes as their LBs coach, per source. Another Minnesota connection on Jonathan Gannon’s staff.

The Cardinals have hired Sam Siefkes as their linebackers coach.
Siefkes comes from the Minnesota Vikings, a team where he had spent two seasons.
Of the coaches that have been hired as of late, Siefkes has the least amount of experience.
Before his two years of experience at the Vikings, Siefkes was the defensive coordinator for Wofford College.
Despite his lack of experience, Gannon must have faith in Siefkes’ abilities, as the two share a connection with the Vikings.
Gannon was an assistant defensive backs coach in Minnesota for four seasons.
Although the Vikings have undergone a few heartbreaking seasons as of late, their defense has been mostly strong.
The Cardinals have been looking to get their defense back on track, especially after their poor season in 2022.
With Gannon, Siefkes, and the rest of their coaching staff, the Cardinals are on track to take a massive leap next season.
If Kyler Murray is fully healthy, the team should be in a great spot moving forward.
This is great news, as the NFC West could be in for a big shake-up in 2023, depending on the quarterback situation of the San Francisco 49ers.
