Well, it’s official; the Denver Broncos have found a ‘new’ Defensive Coordinator, sort of.

As rumored, the Broncos will bring former Head Coach Vance Joseph back, this time as a part of Sean Payton’s staff.

Joseph will be back with the organization just five years after being let go in 2018 for going 11-21 in two seasons.

Nonetheless, now that John Elway and John Ellis are no longer a part of the front office, it seems like there are no hard feelings between both parties.

New GM George Paton is making sure to go the distance to give Sean Payton as much help as he needs to get the job done, and the Broncos had a huge void to fill after Ejiro Evero left to join the Carolina Panthers.

Payton — who’s known for being a great defensive mind himself as well — will now be in charge of offensive duties, whereas Joseph will be taking care of the defensive side of the field.

He’s coming off a three-year tenure serving as the Arizona Cardinals’ Defensive Coordinator, failing to crack the top 10 in defense in any of those seasons.

Of course, some Broncos fans might not welcome this move, but Joseph will now get to work with one of the most promising defensive units in the league, perhaps the lone bright spot for the team in 2022.

The Broncos have more than enough resources to become a driving force out of the AFC West, but it’ll all go down to how Russell Wilson performs in his second year at Mile High.
