Rich Eisen Makes A Strong Statement About Derek Carr

The New York Jets are ready to move on from Zach Wilson, and rightfully so.

Wilson could go down as one of the all-time greatest busts in NFL history, as he was nowhere near the guy he was at BYU or at the combine.

They were originally linked to a trade for Aaron Rodgers, but the multi-time MVP is still silent and considering all the options for his future.

So, instead of resting on their laurels, they’re already doing their due diligence on Derek Carr.

The former Las Vegas Raiders standout already visited their facility and reportedly had a great talk with HC Robert Saleh, so there’s growing optimism about a potential deal coming through.

That’s why bonafide Jets fan Rich Eisen didn’t hesitate to do his part in the recruiting, letting everybody know that he’s more than happy to welcome Carr to the team.

“I would be just fine with Derek Carr being (the Jets) quarterback. I would be happy with it,” Eisen said on his show. “I don’t believe we’ve hit the ceiling on what Derek Carr can do.”

Truth be told, Carr was never put in a good position with the Raiders.

The Raiders have been one of the worst-managed franchises in the league from top to bottom for years now, and there was only so much he could do there.

Carr isn’t elite at anything, but he’s not bad at anything either, and he’s proven to be a master in the clutch.

The Jets just need someone who can lead their offense, and he’ll have a plethora of talented weapons at his disposal from day one.

So, if Rodgers doesn’t come through, they could definitely do a lot worse than Carr at this point.
