The Baltimore Ravens finally got one of the biggest things on their agenda out of the way.

They hired Georgia’s OC Todd Monken to serve as their new Offensive Coordinator, which shouldn’t come as a surprise after the success he’s found with the Bulldogs as of late.

Moreover, Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reported that Monken actually drew plenty of league-wide interest, including the OC job for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Ravens have hired Georgia OC Todd Monken to be their new offensive coordinator. Monken turned down the Bucs job, but still wanted to get back to the pros, and was sought after the last few weeks.

Bulldogs could dip back into the NFL, like they did w/Monken, to replace him.

Monken comes with NFL experience and pedigree already, having served as the Jacksonville Jaguars WR Coach and then as a WR Coach and OC for both the Buccaneers and Cleveland Browns, and he was eyeing a return to the pros after a three-year stint in Georgia.

Notably, the Ravens had to look everywhere to find a new OC, mostly because they couldn’t guarantee any of the applicants that Lamar Jackson was going to be their quarterback next season.

Jackson and the Ravens are reportedly somewhere near $100 million apart in guaranteed money on his new contract extension, which could eventually become a deal-breaker.

The former MVP has been quite vocal about his desire to stay with the Ravens, but he’s also made it clear that he won’t cave in and will demand market value just like some of his colleagues.

That’s a situation to keep an eye on, as there will be plenty of teams lining up to make a Godfather-like offer for Jackson if he refuses to play under the Franchise Tag.

Hopefully, Monken will be up to the challenge, as the future seems bleak in Baltimore.
