Three years ago, the Green Bay Packers blindsided Aaron Rodgers.
They used a first-round pick to get Jordan Love, one of the most shocking and head-scratching moves in recent times.
Not only did they reach for a guy they could’ve taken later in the Draft, but they also used a first-round pick on the position they had covered instead of giving Rodgers another weapon in the passing game.
That might have been the beginning of the end of the relationship between Rodgers and the Packers, something that seems years in the making now.
Rodgers has hinted — again — of leaving Lambeau Field this offseason, leaving the door wide open for Love to take over once and for all.
And if that doesn’t happen, sports analyst Nick Wright believes he should just call it a day and demand to be traded:
“Jordan Love has been in the league for 3 yrs. 78 guys have thrown more passes than him, including Josh Johnson, Tim Boyle, Jake Luton, Bailey Zappe & Trace McSorley,” Wright said on First Things First. “Love should absolutely ask for a trade. If Green Bay isn’t going to play him, they need to trade him.”

Truth be told, he’s waited long enough to get a chance, but that’s what happens when you’re a first-ballot Hall of Famer’s backup.
Also, it’s not like he’s done anything remarkable or impressive any time he’s been given an opportunity to lead the offense, so there’s never been a ‘should the Packers start Love over Rodgers’ debate or argument whatsoever.
Love looks far from starting caliber at the NFL level, regardless of how much praise he gets from Packers teammates and Rodgers himself.
But still, it could be now or never for him, so he’ll need to stand up for himself and demand an opportunity once and for all, whether is with the Packers or somewhere else.
