Daniel Jones and the New York Giants are in the midst of contract talks, something that many teams around the NFL are dealing with.

Jones is currently on his rookie deal, and both parties are looking to get a deal done ahead of the 2023 season.

The franchise tag window closes on March seventh.

Many have pointed to Saquon Barkley as the Giants’ likely choice for the tag, meaning that the team will need to resolve their Jones conflict quickly.

It has been recently revealed that Jones is looking for upwards of $40 million per season, which would make him in the top ten of highest-paid quarterbacks.

The quarterback market in the NFL has changed significantly as of late, especially after the Cleveland Browns gave Deshaun Watson a fully-guaranteed contract.

What Jones will end up garnering from the Giants remains to be seen.

However, with both sides said to be closing in on a deal, contract details are bound to be released in the near future.

Recently, Derek Carr was signed by the New Orleans Saints to a four-year contract.

This solidified the quarterback position for one team that was in desperate need of veteran leadership.

The Giants will look to follow suit, making sure that their quarterback situation is taken care of moving forward.
