The New Orleans Saints recently signed Derek Carr to a four-year contract.

One less quarterback is on the market for the New York Jets, who are looking for a new franchise quarterback of their own.

After this news broke, Jets insider Rich Cimini highlighted a few potential options that are still out there for the Jets.

Rodgers or bust for the #Jets? The apparent fallback is Jimmy Garoppolo, who will be a FA next week. Obvious connection with Saleh, but he will have other suitors. Lamar Jackson? If I’m Joe Douglas, I’m on that if he gets the non-exclusive tag.

Aaron Rodgers, Jimmy Garoppolo, and Lamar Jackson are three names that Cimini mentions.

Rodgers is still a member of the Green Bay Packers, but many have pointed to him as a potential name for the Jets.

Garoppolo will also test the free agent market, given the San Francisco 49ers publicly stated that they would like to move on from him.

Then, although unlikely, is Jackson.

Jackson has been in contract negotiations with the Baltimore Ravens for more than a year.

The Ravens have a few days left to put the franchise tag on Jackson.

As Cimini points out, the Ravens could put the non-exclusive tag on him.

If that happens, the Jets could still make a move for Jackson, even if the Ravens put that particular tag on him.

Either way, the Jets are in for a roller coaster over the next several weeks.

They could end up with a new veteran quarterback for the foreseeable future, and they could be stuck with Zach Wilson.

Carr was the first domino to fall in the 2023 NFL offseason, but many are bound to follow in the coming weeks.

Will the Jets strike first, landing one of these three names?
