For years, Aaron Rodgers has kept the Green Bay Packers competitive.
Likewise, it somehow feels like he’s also held them hostage.
The Packers’ front office has drawn plenty of criticism — and rightfully so — for constantly missing chances of improving their offense and giving Rodgers more weapons.
But they’ve always caved into his financial demands, giving him as much money and all the conditions he asks for to stay with the team.
However, that no longer seems to be the case.
According to NFL insider Jeff Darlington, the Packers are finally taking a stance and won’t just give him everything he wants:
“No longer does it feel like the Packers are simply going to kiss the ring of Aaron Rodgers,” Arlington said on Get Up. “It is, ‘If you want to be a part of this organization, you need to show us that that is going to be the case.’”

Instead, Rodgers will now have to prove to them that he actually wants to be a part of the organization, which makes sense after years of never-ending drama and threats of leaving after every failed postseason trip.
Recently, Packers GM Brian Gutekunst stated that Jordan Love “has to play” and that the team has been quite impressed with his progress, so it seems like they’re already planning as if Rodgers were to demand a trade.
The multi-time MVP hinted at the possibility of leaving as soon as their season came to an early, shocking, and heartbreaking end on the very last game of the regular-season.
The Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets are expected to heavily pursue Rodgers if he becomes available, with others predicting that the Tennessee Titans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Carolina Panthers, or even Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers could also be interested in his services.
