Lions GM Reportedly Sent A Message With His Apparel At Combine

The 2022 Detroit Lions were one of the most improved teams in the National Football League, and by a very big margin.

Aidan Hutchinson helped them anchor their otherwise terrible defense, and their offense took a major leap forward in the second half of the campaign, with Jared Goff having a bounce-back season in his new home.

Now, to make things even better, they have the third-most capital ahead of the upcoming NFL Draft.

They currently have two first-round picks — including the sixth overall, via the Los Angeles Rams — in the top 18, plus two second-round picks, one third-round pick, one fifth-round pick, and two sixth-round picks.

Needless to say, there’s plenty to envy if you’re a rival executive currently scouting talent at the combine, and Lions GM Brad Holmes is quite aware of it.

That’s why he’s reportedly wearing a t-shirt that reads “VILLAIN”, according to NFL insider Peter Schrager, seemingly embracing this persona.

The Lions have a plethora of cap space, several young players, and plenty of draft capital to continue building their already-promising roster, so yeah, it’s going to be quite easy to hate them sooner rather than later if you’re a divisional rival.

Still, they’ve been through hell for way too long, so it’s nice to see that they’ve finally straightened the ship and have a bright future ahead of them.

Dan Campbell has the full trust of the front office, and rightfully so, and he’ll now have an even more stacked roster in 2023, so look out for this new-look Lions team.
