NFL Fans React To Saturday’s Jacksonville Jaguars News

When the 2022 NFL season began, the Jacksonville Jaguars were thought to have the potential for future success, but not many thought they would achieve any of that success right away.

They started the season 2-6, and it looked like their key young players, including quarterback Trevor Lawrence, needed more time to develop and gel together as a cohesive unit.

But Jacksonville ended the regular season with a five-game winning streak, giving them a 9-8 record and first place in the AFC South, and that momentum continued in the playoffs as they overcame a 27-0 deficit to claim a clutch win over the Los Angeles Chargers in the wild-card round.

Defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris was a big factor in the team’s late-season surge, and on Saturday, he agreed to a three-year, $30 million contract extension.

Some fans felt that Jaguars overpaid for a player who has never made the Pro Bowl in six seasons.

Good player but 10M per year after one season of above average play seems like a bit of an overpay

Not the signing you were hoping for today though

Others, on the other hand, were happy for Robertson-Harris and the Jaguars.

Well deserved

Bear legend, congrats Roy!

Nice seeing guys wanting to stay with the JAGS, and doing things for the team for a change. Great guy!

Robinson-Harris has spent the last two seasons in Jacksonville, and prior to that, he was with the Chicago Bears for his first four pro seasons.

While there, he helped the struggling franchise win 12 games during the 2018 season and reach the playoffs.

Late this season, he was one of the reasons Jacksonville made its surge and scored that inspiring come-from-behind win over Los Angeles.

In that contest, he had four tackles for loss, two passes defended and two quarterback hits as the Jaguars came on strong in the second half against the flat-footed Chargers.
