NFL Analyst Sees 1 QB As A Great Fit For Colts

The Indianapolis Colts were hoping they would finish first in the AFC South this season when they acquired veteran quarterback Matt Ryan last March.

But Ryan performed poorly and was benched late in the season as the Colts stumbled to a 4-12-1 finish.

The one silver lining is that they will hold the fourth pick in next month’s NFL draft, a draft that is expected to offer several potential-laden QBs.

Former NFL player and current analyst Anthony “Booger” McFarland says that Indianapolis should take University of Alabama signal-caller Bryce Young and stop relying on what he calls “retread” QBs to save them.

The question, of course, is whether Young will still be available at No. 4.

He is generally considered the best quarterback prospect in the draft, but at the same time, many have questions about whether he will hold up in the pros because of his modest six-foot, 194-pound frame.

Quarterbacks have gotten bigger, stronger and more athletic ever since the 1990s, and so have defensive linemen and linebackers, making it a faster, more physical and yes, more violent game.

But luckily, Young has skills at a high level, as many think highly of his passing ability, football IQ and instinctual feel for the game.

If he does become a Colt and does well in the NFL, perhaps the team will get out of the mud it seems currently stuck in.

Indy does possess one of the best running backs around in Jonathan Taylor, not to mention a stud wide receiver in Michael Pittman Jr.
