NFL Analyst Names 1 Team As “Most Aggressive” In Trying To Move Up In Draft

It’s been a long while since the Carolina Panthers had a franchise quarterback behind center.

That last version of Cam Newton was far from the player he was in his MVP campaign and Super Bowl trip, and their QB carousel has stood in their way to contention for many years now.

So, with Frank Reich in town and the ownership reportedly mad at their scouting team, it seems like they’re on the verge of making a huge splash in the upcoming NFL Draft.

NFL insider Cameron Wolfe recently claimed that the Panthers are expected to be the most aggressive team in the league in terms of trading up to land a QB in the top five, no matter how big of a haul it takes.

“I’ve never heard a team in the combine more aggressive than Carolina,” Wolfe said on Good Morning Football America. “So, I imagine you’ll hear their name a lot between now and the Draft as far as moving up for a quarterback.”

Wolfe added that they could re-sign Sam Darnold as a place-holder as well, but cited that their entire focus in the upcoming NFL Draft will be taking care of that QB position.

As of now, the Panthers are in control of four picks in the first three rounds: 9; 39; 61; and 93, so they have more than enough capital to try and make a deal.

They could use a first-round pick to try and get can’t-miss kind of talents like Bryce Young (Alabama) or CJ Stroud (Ohio State) or take a flier on more intriguing prospects such as Will Levis (Kentucky) or Anthony Richardson (Florida).

Whatever the case, one thing’s for sure: The Panthers are in the market for a QB1, and they won’t rest until they get one.
