There will be several highly regarded quarterback prospects on the board when the 2023 NFL Draft commences next month.

The University of Alabama’s Bryce Young, Ohio State University star C.J. Stroud and the University of Kentucky’s Will Levis are thought to be arguably the three best such prospects.

Former NFL quarterback and current analyst Dan Orlovsky feels that when it comes to passing, Stroud is the best of the bunch, and he broke down exactly why and how.

Stroud put up 3,688 passing yards and 41 passing touchdowns in 2022 while completing 66.3 percent of his passes in 2022 for an Ohio State team that went 11-2 and narrowly lost in the Peach Bowl.

The previous season, he threw for 4,435 yards and 44 touchdowns on an impressive completion rate of 71.9 percent.

The Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. native does a fairly good job of protecting the ball, as he has thrown just six interceptions in each of the last two seasons.

A number of teams across the NFL need or could need a new franchise quarterback, and Stroud could fit the bill for a number of squads.

Could a team such as the Indianapolis Colts, who have been in quarterback limbo ever since the sudden retirement of Andrew Luck, trade up in order to be able to select Stroud?

On the other hand, a team such as the Carolina Panthers, who have the third pick and decided to blow things up a bit in October, could take a major step forward with Stroud’s help.

We could be in for a game of musical quarterback chairs from mid-March until the final day of the draft.
