The Baltimore Ravens are looking for more out of their 2023 season.
Not only as a team but from their quarterback.
But first, they need to sign their franchise quarterback to a contract.
Lamar Jackson is set to hit unrestricted free agency this offseason unless the Ravens can get a deal done before then.
Jackson has shown that he is well worth top-of-the-market money.
He was the league MVP in 2019 and has been the top dual-threat quarterback in the NFL.
But, most dual-threat players get injured often.
That is exactly what happened to Jackson.
He has played in only 12 games each of the past two seasons, and his injury derailed the Ravens’ playoff hopes this season.
But, the Ravens still have to make signing Jackson a priority.
Especially because new offensive coordinator Todd Monken thinks he is “elite”.

Monken comes to Baltimore after coaching the University of Georgia last season.
He has NFL coaching experience and should be a good fit for Jackson and the Ravens.
Even with the injury history, it would be a complete disaster to let Lamar leave in free agency.
Jackson has been one of the most productive quarterbacks in Ravens history and he deserves to be paid like it.
Not to mention that Monken most likely took this job to work with Jackson.
If he does not come back that would not be a good start to the relationship with Monken and Baltimore.
Keep an eye on what the Ravens do with Jackson this offseason, as how they treat him could change the organization forever.
