The Baltimore Ravens have recently announced that they will be placing the non-exclusive franchise tag on Lamar Jackson.

This means, if another team is interested in Jackson, the Ravens would have a chance to match whatever that team put forward.

However, if they didn’t want to match that offer, or if Jackson refused the Ravens, the team would receive two first-round picks from Jackson’s suitor.

After this news broke, Max Kellerman of ESPN revealed his top-six quarterbacks in the NFL, with Jackson in the sixth spot.

Ahead of Jackson, at least to Kellerman, are Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts, Justin Herbert, and Josh Allen.

Interestingly, Hurts is the only NFC quarterback on this list.

Unfortunately for Jackson, as long as he stays on the Ravens, he’ll have to compete with these four superstars in the AFC.

Is he better than any of the quarterbacks listed?

Besides Mahomes (who has two), Jackson is the only player on this list with a  league MVP award.

In his career on the Ravens, Jackson has a career-winning percentage of 73.8, an impressive feat.

Among these six quarterbacks, he trails just Mahomes in the regular season winning percentage.

What is it about Jackson that gives a cause for concern?

He is a proven winner for the Ravens, but his injury history might cause some trepidation.

While the Ravens have franchise-tagged Jackson, it’s now open season for another team to give him an offer.

Will he begin the season as a member of the Ravens?

That answer should reveal itself in due time.
