The NFL has always been a tough business.

Even though a team can say how much they love a player, they could turn around and trade him the next day.

That is seemingly what happened with former Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy.

At the time of the trade, McCoy was the Eagles’ all-time leading rusher and a fan favorite.

He was also coming off a season where he rushed for 1,319 yards and five touchdowns.

McCoy details how he felt when he found out he was being traded to the Buffalo Bills.

He revealed that he cried after he was traded.

Shady McCoy got emotional when his time with the Eagles came to an end

“When they traded me, I cried.”

In the trade, the Eagles acquired linebacker, Kiko Alonso.

McCoy never pictured himself playing football anywhere but in Pennsylvania.

He grew up in Harrisburgh and went to the University of Pittsburgh for college.

Then he was drafted by the Eagles in the 2009 NFL draft.

So for him to have to leave PA for the first time in his football career was probably shocking.

McCoy moved on to the Bills and had three pro-bowl seasons.

Overall, every season we see teams trade or release some of their franchise’s best players.

So while it was a surprise to McCoy, the Eagles wanted to move him before his play started to decline.

He will still be welcomed into the Eagles Hall of Fame one day.
