Jets Star Hints That An Aaron Rodgers Trade Could Be A Package Deal

Perhaps the hottest rumor in the NFL right now is that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers could be headed to the New York Jets.

Jets owner Woody Johnson reportedly flew to Southern California to meet with Rodgers, and other members of the team have been trying to recruit Rodgers as well.

One of those other members of the Jets is star cornerback Sauce Gardner, who was recently named the Defensive Rookie of the Year in addition to his Pro Bowl and All-Pro first-team nods.

Gardner hinted that if Rodgers does end up in the New York City area, it would be a package deal that would presumably include other players as well.

Sauce Gardner on his stream (with Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall sitting next to him) said that if Aaron Rodgers comes to the #Jets “it’s package deals all over. I can’t tell y’all who, but just know.”

The Jets seem to have some of the ingredients needed to become a legitimate playoff team next season, especially on the defensive side of the football.

Gardner has given them a new franchise cornerstone to go along with defensive tackle Quinnen Williams and linebacker C.J. Mosley, both of whom also made the Pro Bowl this past season.

With their help, New York finished fourth in both points and total yards allowed.

On offense, Garrett Wilson won the Offensive Rookie of the Year award after posting 1,103 yards and four touchdowns in 2022.

But the Jets have a huge hole at quarterback.

Second-year man Zach Wilson has apparently turned out to be a bust, and they ended up trying a whopping four starters at that position this past season.

After his Packers missed the playoffs a few months ago, Rodgers should have a great shot at returning to the postseason if he ends up with the Jets.
