The Jacksonville Jaguars found a steady contributor at the tight end position with Evan Engram.

Injuries never really allowed Engram to fulfill his great potential as a pass-catching TE with the New York Giants, so it was nice to see him finally do his thing at the pro level.

However, the former first-round pick is slated to become a free agent, and he’s reportedly looking to sign a long-term deal in the next few weeks.

So, with everybody keeping tabs on what the Jaguars might do about it, even Engram himself was nearly shocked when looking at his Twitter timeline.

Engram hilariously admitted that ‘his heart dropped’ when he saw a Jaguars post about him, as he thought it was an announcement of some sort.

The Jaguars shared a picture of Engram’s season, making him look twice before sharing his feelings on social media.

The University of Mississippi product entered the league in 2017 and signed a one-year prove-it deal with the Jaguars before posting career highs all over the board, also becoming the franchise’s all-time leader in receiving yards in a single game by a tight end and most receptions by a tight end in a full season.

The talented pass-catcher recently admitted that there’s mutual interest in extending his stay on Doug Pederson’s team, which is unsurprising given his evident rapport with Trevor Lawrence.

So, yeah, he might have to wait a little longer before the news becomes official, but that announcement is coming; so he doesn’t need to keep hitting refresh on his timeline.
