The New York Giants were one of the surprises of the NFL last season.

No one saw them making the playoffs in their first year under new head coach Brian Daboll.

But, that is exactly what they did.

New York finished the season with a 9-7-1 record and that was good enough for the sixth seed in the NFC.

Luckily for the Giants, that matched them up with the Minnesota Vikings in the first round.

The Giants were able to get their first playoff win since 2011.

Even though they got blown out the next week, it was still a successful season for New York.

According to NFL insider Dov Kleiman, Giants players reportedly really disliked Joe Judge and really like Brian Daboll.

They feel like Daboll listens to them and respects their time.

#Giants players apparently really disliked former coach Joe Judge and Brian Daboll is a complete 180.

Even though the Giants do not have a great roster, Daboll did an amazing job in coaching to optimize his player’s abilities.

He helped quarterback Daniel Jones limit his turnovers, and he allowed Jones to use his legs more.

Now, Jones is set up for a massive payday thanks to the success he had under Daboll.

There is no question the Giants are in good hands with Daboll as their head coach.

The front office will have plenty of tough decisions to make this offseason.

Not only does Jones need a new contract, but so does running back Saquon Barkley.

It will be interesting to see how the Giants approach new deals for their two most important offensive players.
