Giants Reporter Gives Latest Update On Daniel Jones Negotiations

The New York Giants might have the toughest decision to make among all NFL teams.

That is trying to figure out what they want to do with quarterback Daniel Jones.

Jones is coming off a season where he led the Giants to the playoffs, but he did not have a great statistical year.

In 16 games, Jones threw 15 touchdown passes and only five interceptions.

Where he was most valuable was running the ball, he rushed for a career-high 708 yards and seven touchdowns.

But, now that Jones needs a new contract, the Giants are stuck in a bad place.

It appears he is looking to make around $40 million per year, and he is not worth that in the eyes of many.

But, if the Giants let him leave they have no other quality quarterbacks on their roster.

According to ESPN reporter, Jordan Raanan, the Giants are making progress with Jones on a deal.

Have heard in recent days there has been progress between Daniel Jones and the #Giants. Getting something done by Tuesday doesn’t seem unreasonable. It sounds as if there will be a four at the front of the annual salary.

If this deal does go through, it could be a major setback for the Giants.

Jones will be taking up a large portion of their salary cap, and that would affect the Giants’ ability to put good players around him.

The 25-year-old has not shown the ability to consistently win games with his arm.

But, to be paid $40 million per year, he is going to have to do that.

Luckily for Jones, he has a great head coach in Brian Daboll who puts him in places to succeed.

Although, much more will be expected from Jones once he signs this massive contract.
