The Washington Commanders have to be happy with their new offensive coordinator.
Washington has struggled on offense for a few years now, and a lack of elite players was part of the reason.
But, also they did not have a strong play caller leading the offense.
That should not be an issue in 2023 with former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy set to take over.
Bieniemy has been seen as one of the best offensive coordinators in football over the past few seasons.

Now, Bieniemy looks for a fresh start with the Commanders where he can call plays full-time.
One former player of Bieniemy’s who was not fond of him was running back LeSean McCoy.
McCoy questioned what makes Bieniemy a good coach, and if he can lead an offense on his own.
Yet, the comments by McCoy did not seem to bother Bieniemy when he was asked about them.
#Commanders OC Eric Bieniemy takes the high road when asked about LeSean McCoy’s comments: “He’s a future Hall of Fame runner. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. That’s life, You got good, you got bad. It doesn’t impact me in any way. The one thing you learn in this… https://t.co/AqEbh9hqfV

Even though McCoy spoke poorly of Bieniemy, the former Chiefs coach also has plenty of fans in that KC locker room.
Mahomes and Travis Kelce stood up for Bieniemy and how good of a coach he is.
So did former Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles.
Bieniemy will be able to show how good of a coach he is next season, and if he can turn the Commanders’ offense into a viable unit that is impressive in itself.
Also, that will do wonders for him possibly getting a head coaching job next offseason.
