Derek Carr has become one of the hottest names in the National Football League as of late.
The former Las Vegas Raiders quarterback is now officially a free agent, and he’s expected to be highly coveted throughout the whole free-agency process.
Carr had already visited the New Orleans Saints and reportedly had some interesting chats with HC Dennis Allen.
Now, according to his brother, David Carr, he had a fantastic visit with the New York Jets, hitting it off with Robert Saleh and discussing their play-calling situation and whatnot.
“It’s gonna be a long process,” Carr said on NFL Network. “He wants to do his due diligence and see as many places as he can to get a feel for what the best place for him will be.”

However, as good as Derek felt in the Big Apple, David notes that it’s going to be a long process for the Fresno State product.
Per Carr, his brother wants to do his due diligence on every single team that’s interested in his services, and he’ll only sign for the team that gives him the best situation.
Nonetheless, it’s also worth noting that he’s not going to be the only veteran quarterback potentially available for those QB-needy teams.
He’s the best free agent at the position, but Jimmy Garoppolo and Baker Mayfield will also draw some attention, and Aaron Rodgers’ potential sweepstakes are also a factor to consider.
Derek Carr is a much better quarterback than some fans credit him for, and one can’t help to feel like he was just a scapegoat for Josh McDaniels’ terrible decision-making.
So, he’s doing the right think by taking it just one day at a time instead of rushing to make a decision about his future.
