An NFL WR Appears To Have Changed His Name

Some players in the NFL tend to be flamboyant, and for some of them, it gets to the point where they put that personality trait on full display.

It’s one thing for an established star such as Chad Johnson, who legally changed his name to “Ochocinco,” to be that way, but when a non-star does so, it causes many to roll their eyes in disbelief.

Robbie Anderson, a wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals, has changed his legal name to Chosen Anderson.

It may seem arrogant for a player of his caliber to change his first name to “Chosen,” and it will likely make him the subject of plenty of ridicule.

To be clear, Anderson isn’t a bad player, as he put up 1,096 yards just two seasons ago, but just about no one feels he is on the level of Johnson, who made six Pro Bowls and two All-Pro first teams during his 11-year career.

This year, Anderson started just seven of 16 games and managed only 282 yards and one touchdown, both of which were career lows.

He had an unspectacular two-year tenure at Temple University in Philadelphia, and he went unchosen in the 2016 NFL Draft.

He has certainly done better than the vast majority of undrafted players who find their way onto an NFL team, as he has stuck around for seven seasons thus far.

With the Cardinals’ DeAndre Hopkins considered likely to be traded this offseason, Anderson may find himself with a somewhat increased workload in 2023, as they hope to return to the NFL playoffs for only the second time since 2015.
