The Dallas Cowboys were able to make it to the Divisional round of the playoffs this season, but once again, they fell short.

It seems like the Cowboys are just one or two players away from making a deep playoff run, and they will look to add those pieces in the offseason.

One of the main areas for concern is at wide receiver, as they lack depth at the moment.

There is an exciting receiver prospect that has been closely linked to the team, who would seemingly fit in well, given his roots.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba said recently that it would “definitely” be special if he was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys.

Njigba grew up just over 20 miles from Dallas, so the Cowboys were his hometown team.

He said he “loved” watching them play as a kid.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba has been one of the most highly-regarded receiving prospects heading into the NFL Draft in April.

He was a key playmaker on Ohio State’s high-flying offense, and his physical characteristics will seemingly translate well into the NFL.

Smith-Njigba is familiar with the Dallas area, given that he grew up just 20 miles away.

Currently, the Cowboys’ main receiving weapons are CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, and Noah Brown.

Lamb was a former first-round talent and is regarded as one of the NFL’s brightest young receivers.

However, Gallup and Brown have been serviceable, but don’t present an upside anywhere close to Lamb.

Adding Smith-Njigba into the fold could be vital for this team, bringing Dak Prescott and the offense to a new level of production.

However, to draft him, the Cowboys will likely need to trade up, given the fact that he is a top prospect that the position.

The Cowboys are currently slated to draft 27th overall.

What moves will they make ahead of this draft to bolster their offense?
