The Las Vegas Raiders continue to make key adjustments ahead of a make-or-break season for the organization.

According to Las Vegas Review-Journal’s Vincent Bonsignore, they’ve officially parted ways with Defensive Line coach Frank Okam.

Okam’s tenure in Sin City was short-lived and full of criticism.

He was brought in by Defensive Coordinator Patrick Graham in 2022, but Okam failed to make an impact and elevate the team, with the Raiders recording just 21.5 sacks throughout the whole season.

Notably, Frank Okam came with some decent pedigree.

He had served as the Carolina Panthers’ Assistant Defensive Line Coach in 2020 and then Defensive Line Coach in 2021, not to mention plenty of experience under Matt Rhule at Baylor University.

Also, he spent six years in the league, with tenures with the Houston Texans, Seattle Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and New York Giants before retiring in 2013.

Josh McDaniels and the Raiders will continue to find a suitable replacement, with Ede Rushers Coach Matt Edwards and Defensive Assistant Rob Ryan looking like potential candidates to take over that spot.

Even so, the team will most likely focus all of their efforts on the offensive side of the field, at least until they manage to solve their QB situation.

With Derek Carr no longer on board, the Raiders don’t have all that many options to pursue to lead their offense in the foreseeable future, which is why not getting Aaron Rodgers — provided he actually demands a trade — could be a catastrophe for their aspirations ahead of next season.
