Even though they got off to a terrible start to the season, the Pittsburgh Steelers still managed to finish the season with a winning record.

But — as glad as he could be for keeping his streak alive — we all know that HC Mike Tomlin won’t celebrate mediocrity, and he might be far from satisfied with the current status of his team.

So, now that they’ve lost former Linebackers Coach Brian Flores — who left to become Defensive Coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings — there was a major position to fill.

Notably, they filled it with one of the best candidates they could’ve thought of, hiring former Seattle Seahawks top-five pick Aaron Curry, according to a report by Matt Zenitz of On3Sports.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to hire former NFL linebacker Aaron Curry as a linebackers coach, sources tell @on3sports.

Curry comes with plenty of experience, serving as the Seahawks DE/DL coach in Seattle.

He’s been a part of the Seahawks organization since 2019, working his way up from a Coaching Assistant all the way to Defensive Assistant.

He also worked at the collegiate level, serving under Bill Lambert at the University of Charlotte since 2014.

For those who wondered, he’s — in fact — the former fourth-overall pick.

He was taken by the Seattle Seahawks in the first round in 2009 after a glorious tenure at Wake Forest, later being traded to the Oakland (now Las Vegas) Raiders.

Unfortunately, he was only able to say in the league for four years before pursuing this new career path.

Through 48 career games (39 starts), he logged 5.5 sacks, 12 pass breakups, and 203 tackles, and he’ll now get to work with one of the most physical defensive units in the game.
