Matt Nagy May Be Getting A Promotion In Kansas City

Matt Nagy’s career as a coach has come with many ups and downs.

He started with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he worked his way up to their offensive quality control coach.

Then, he went to the Kansas City Chiefs, moving up to the ranks as offensive coordinator before heading to the Chicago Bears to be their head coach.

When that four-year tenure was over, he came back to the Chiefs, resuming his post as a senior assistant and quarterbacks coach.

Now, it appears that he might be up for another promotion if the stars continue to align.

With the expected OC opening in Kansas City, Matt Nagy quickly emerges as the top choice to fill Eric Bieniemy’s shoes after the #Chiefs complete their process. He’s currently senior assistant and quarterbacks coach. https://t.co/95AJmrWEcq

Eric Bieniemy has been linked to the offensive coordinator position for the Washington Commanders, which would leave an opening in Kansas City.

The Chiefs have consistently had one of the league’s best offenses under Bieniemy.

Although it would be a big loss for the Chiefs, Nagy could slot into this role nicely, considering he has plenty of experience with the team already.

This way, the Chiefs wouldn’t have to make an outside hire, and their offense can continue to click.

Plus, Nagy was instrumental in drafting Patrick Mahomes, a story that was detailed on Jason and Travis Kelce’s podcast.

Nagy was responsible for giving Mahomes intel ahead of his interview with Andy Reid, which led to the Chiefs drafting him.

The rest, of course, is history.

Nagy finished his four seasons with the Bears with a career head coaching record of 34-31.

He continues to promote a winning culture, something that is already very prominent in Kansas City.
