The Chicago Bears have a great problem on their hands right now.
They have a potential franchise quarterback in Justin Fields, and they also have the no. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.
So, while some speculate that the Bears will use the pick to trade down and surround Fields with more talent, others aren’t that sure anymore.
That includes PFF’s Steve Palazzolo, who believes the Bears should actually use that pick to get Alabama’s Bryce Young and then look to move Fields somewhere else.
“I do think the Bears should do their due diligence on Bryce Young and the other quarterbacks. Bryce Young, in particular, he’s the no. 1 quarterback on the PFF’s Draft Board. I do think you have to weigh taking Bryce Young at one and potentially trading Justin Fields.”
“I would take Bryce Young and I would look to trade Justin Fields.”

While that could be a somewhat controversial statement, it wouldn’t be that far-fetched or a crazy idea by any means.
There was a brief stretch where Fields looked like the best second-year QB in the league.
But his Offensive Coordinator and Head Coach didn’t trust him or give him a long leash, as he averaged roughly 21 attempts per game and was barely even asked to throw the football until way deep into the season.
Fields made some incredible plays with his feet and showed glimpses of great potential, but Young looks like a generational talent, and those don’t come around that often.
There’s a chance that Fields will turn out to be a very good player, and his trade value should be interesting right now.
But it’s not like he’s been spectacular thus far or that the Bears are ready to compete any time soon, so they could afford to develop a potential superstar like Young while getting some nice value in return for Fields.
