The Las Vegas Raiders have been one of the most discussed NFL teams during the 2023 offseason.

They recently released Derek Carr, who has now been signed by the New Orleans Saints.

Jimmy Garoppolo was the first major quarterback domino to fall in the first 24 hours of legal tampering, ending up on the Raiders.

Now, the Raiders have announced that they will be adding another weapon for Garoppolo.

Jakobi Meyers has been signed to a three-year, $33 million deal, per Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter.

Although Meyers was an undrafted free agent in 2019, he has found a successful NFL career thus far.

In four seasons with the New England Patriots, Meyers racked up 2,547 yards, 218 receptions, and eight touchdowns.

He was the Patriots’ leading receiver in 2022 and could be a valuable number two receiver in Las Vegas behind Davante Adams.

Now that Meyers has found a new home with the Raiders, he will have quarterback stability for the first time in his career.

While he did have Tom Brady throwing to him during his rookie year, he has experienced four different starters in the least three seasons.

By having instability at the quarterback position, it can be difficult for receivers to establish any rapport, and have a tough time getting into a rhythm.

Garoppolo is a veteran quarterback who has played in New England, and also San Francisco.

Both of those organizations are widely viewed as well-run.

With any luck, between Garoppolo’s veteran experience and Meyers’ playing ability, the Raiders will be able to find sustained success over the next few seasons.
