The Jets Made A Notable Trade Thursday

The New York Jets have recently made a notable trade.

And no, it’s not the Aaron Rodgers blockbuster that NFL fans have been waiting for.

After a 12-year playoff drought, the Jets will head into 2023 with a new-look roster, looking to compete in the new season.

Among other players that will be added later, the Jets have traded for safety Chuck Clark, per Ian Rapoport.

Clark is a six-year NFL veteran, spending his entire career with the Baltimore Ravens.

2022 marked Clark’s second-highest career total in tackles, with 89.

He was also responsible for a forced fumble and had four deflected passes.

Clark will be a welcomed addition to the Jets’ defense, which was one of the NFL’s top units in 2022.

Sauce Gardner is coming off of a season in that he won the Rookie of the Year award, and was the highest-rated defensive back according to PFF.

Clark will join Gardner, as well as Quinnen Williams, John Franklin-Myers, and Michael Carter II in hopes of continuing to build their already strong defense.

Despite the Jets’ success on defense in 2022, their offense left something to be desired.

Last year, the Jets scored just 18.1 points per game, which was the sixth-fewest points in the league.

If their offense can get even close to the production of their defense, the Jets should find great success next season.

With rumors of Rodgers potentially joining the team, Jets fans have become increasingly excited about their prospective future.

The acquisition of Clark was the first of many moves for the Jets this offseason.
