The Ohio State Buckeyes have produced no shortage of NFL talents, and QB CJ Stroud is on the verge of joining that list of former alumni making it to the pros.
Stroud was the focal point in arguably the most explosive and dominant offense in the nation last season, and he’s been a talking point among NFL scouts for quite a while now.
Some believe that Stroud is even a better quarterback than Alabama’s Bryce Young, even though he might not have the upper hand in terms of football IQ.
Stroud’s ability to create something out of every broken play, elude guys when the pocket collapses, and hit his receivers in stride, turned him into must-watch television during his days at Ohio State.
Moreover, former NFL player Louis Riddick believes that he’s got untapped potential, stating that he could wind up becoming a superstar if he ends up in the right place.
“If you can get him to warm up to you; get him to believe in what you’re saying, the sky is the absolute freaking limit,” Riddick said. ““I think [C.J.] is the gem. (…) If he gets to the right place, he’s going to prove a lot of people right.”
For @LRiddickESPN, if C.J. Stroud lands in the right situation, ‘the sky is the limit’

Of course, that’s not much of a hot take, and getting to the right environment and developing some trust with your coaches could do wonders for every single player on Earth.
But for Stroud, specifically, how his team deals with him and his skills will be key to determining how far he can get at the next level, as he has all the tools he needs to be one of the marquee players in this league.
CJ Stroud might end up being the second QB off the board, but he could end up being the most accomplished quarterback in his class.
