When Tom Brady left the New England Patriots, many fans around the AFC rejoiced, considering he would no longer be in their conference.
However, the Patriots fanbase was left without their hero, and more importantly, a great starting quarterback.
Even though the Patriots drafted Mac Jones in 2021, he hasn’t provided the type of upside that the organization had initially hoped for.
According to Patriots beat reporter Dakota Randall, the Patriots recently met with one of the top quarterback prospects in the class, Anthony Richardson.
Richardson commented on his experience with the Patriots, citing, “I feel like that was another great interview for me as well.”

If the Patriots are serious about drafting Richardson, they would be committing to a new-look offense.
During Brady’s tenure with the team, he was a pocket passer who is not known for his mobility.
In fact, in Brady’s entire career with the Patriots, he had 1,037 rushing yards.
In just two seasons at the University of Florida, Richardson compiled 1,055 rushing yards.
Richardson has recently compared his play style to Cam Newton, who was known for his rushing prowess, holding the NFL record for quarterback rushing touchdowns in a career.
Pocket passers are far from the norm, as players like Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, and Jalen Hurts not only have strong arms but also take off on the run as well.
Richardson plays similarly to those three, although, he could use some work in the passing game.
The NFL has changed significantly over the past several years.
