Just weeks before entering the National Football League, Georgia star Jalen Carter is now tangled up in a major scandal.

Carter has been issued an arrest warrant after being implicated by the Athens PD in the fatal crash that killed Devin Willock and Chandler LeCroy, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Notably, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution had broken the news of Carter being implicated at the scene, even though he had reportedly told police officers that he was over a mile away from the place.

The defensive star reportedly fled the scene before first responders arrived at the scene, returning 90 minutes later.

Carter claimed to be traveling alongside the car implicated in the fatal accident, and now the police believe the two might have been involved in a race.

Notably, the report states that they haven’t released any videos or shared more information about the case, citing evidence in an ongoing investigation.

As for Carter, his agent Drew Rosenhaus refused to comment on the situation, and the timing couldn’t be any worst.

Carter is considered one of the top-tier prospects ahead of the upcoming NFL Draft, with some even predicting he could be the first-overall pick.

The DT was one of the most disruptive and prominent players for a Georgia Bulldogs team that dominated College Football almost at will, showing physicality and versatility that has NFL scouts enamored with him.

Of course, this could end up significantly hurting his Draft stock, so this will be a story to follow closely in the following weeks as we approach the event on April 28th.
