Russell Wilson Disputes A Shocking New Report

The Seattle Seahawks needed a change, and so did Russell Wilson.

For years, there were stories and reports about him not getting along with Pete Carroll, and it seemed like Carroll never fully trusted Wilson’s judgment on the field.

Russ never got to change plays at the line of scrimmage, and the team was reluctant to let him be the focal point of the offense instead of the running game.

Now, a report by The Athletic states that Wilson’s frustration grew to the point where he actually tried to get Pete Carroll and GM John Schneider fired.

The front office didn’t comply with Wilson’s request, and they wound up trading him to the Denver Broncos in a somewhat surprising trade instead.

That’s why Russ himself rushed to Twitter to dismiss that narrative right away, stating that he never wanted or tried to get anyone fired and saying that all they wanted was to win.

I love Pete and he was a father figure to me and John believed in me and drafted me as well. I never wanted them fired. All any of us wanted was to win.

Moreover, Wilson added that Carroll was a father figure to him and thanked Schneider for believing in him and taking him in the NFL Draft.

Of course, this is yet another case of ‘he said, she said,’ and chances are that we’ll never truly know what went down behind closed doors.

But what’s evident is that Wilson’s relationship with Carroll became untenable, and they didn’t even acknowledge each other when Russ visited Lumen Field for their season opener.

At the end of the day, both parties needed to move on, so they may just want to put this under the rug and that’s it.
