The Los Angeles Rams lost a key member of their roster when they released star linebacker Bobby Wagner after both sides mutually agreed to part ways.
Reportedly, the Rams made the decision for salary cap reasons, even though Wagner is still a viable player.
This will make him a free agent once business officially opens in March, and he could represent the final piece to a championship puzzle for another team.

Perhaps he isn’t quite as much of a force as he used to be, but the 32-year-old still had a nice season with 10 tackles for loss, 10 quarterback hits, six sacks, and five passes defended, even though it was the first time since 2013 he wasn’t voted to the Pro Bowl.
In 10 previous seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, Wagner was a key part of what was an outstanding defense, and he was a member of their Super Bowl championship squad while earning eight Pro Bowl appearances and six All-Pro first-team nods during his time in Seattle.
Free agency will be interesting this spring, not only because of Wagner’s newfound availability, but also because of a few quarterbacks who are attracting interest.
Former Las Vegas Raiders signal-caller Derek Carr will be a free agent, and there have been rumors that the Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Rodgers may be on the move, although it is starting to look like he may remain put.
In addition, there seems to be a good chance that Jimmy Garoppolo of the San Francisco 49ers and Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens could be in play.
Perhaps the NFL’s landscape will look significantly different once teams report for OTAs this summer.
