Several key members of the Los Angeles Rams will be back next season in order to bounce back from what was a terrible Super Bowl title defense in 2022, including quarterback Matthew Stafford, defensive tackle Aaron Donald, and cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
However, linebacker Bobby Wagner won’t be back, as he and the Rams decided to part ways.
Ramsey paid tribute to his championship teammate on Twitter and wished him well moving forward.

Wagner was acquired by L.A. last offseason as a replacement for Von Miller, who moved on to the Buffalo Bills after becoming the final piece to the team’s championship puzzle after arriving in a midseason trade.
Previously, Wagner had played 10 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, where he had made the Pro Bowl in eight consecutive seasons, as well as the All-Pro first-team six times.
With the Rams, Wagner wasn’t named to the Pro Bowl, but he did manage to put up five passes defended, two interceptions, six sacks, 10 quarterback hits, and 10 tackles for loss.
Although he managed to play in all 17 games, the team was ravaged by injuries, especially Stafford and star wide receiver Cooper Kupp, which played a significant role in the 5-12 finish.
It is rare for a team that wins the Super Bowl to win it all the next year or to even make it back to the championship game, but it seems even rarer for such a team to miss the playoffs the following season.
With enough of their pieces intact, the Rams will aim to seriously challenge the San Francisco 49ers for NFC West superiority and overcome the Philadelphia Eagles to give themselves a real shot at another world title.
