Lamar Jackson has been one of the most talked-about players of the 2023 NFL offseason.
He has yet to sign a long-term extension with the Baltimore Ravens and was recently franchise tagged by the team.
While many NFL fans are aware of Jackson’s abilities on the football field, his off-field efforts are noteworthy as well.
The video below has resurfaced, which shows Jackson interacting with children, and members of the greater Baltimore community.
Thinking about Lamar Jackson last summer. He couldn’t get out his car before being swarmed by kids. He walked around a whole park, throwing passes and talking to them for hours. We know his play on the field. This is him off of it. He’s a face of the NFL. pic.twitter.com/Enwltmg8qp

Jackson was reported to spend several hours with this group of children, taking time to throw a football, and just talk with them.
Because of actions like this, Jackson is well-liked within the local community.
However, the Ravens organization has been hesitant to sign him to a long-term deal.
Jackson won the league MVP award in 2019, and already holds several NFL records.
He has the most wins by a quarterback under the age of 25, he is the youngest quarterback to start a playoff game, and is the youngest quarterback to achieve a perfect passer rating.
Jackson’s impact is felt by the Ravens, both on and off the field.
Many Ravens fans and members of NFL media have been publically confused by the Ravens’ actions.
Jackson has proven to be an efficient quarterback and has led the Ravens to a 45-16 record as a starter.
By placing the franchise tag on him, the Ravens have made it clear that, at this point, they don’t want to tie themselves to Jackson long-term.
Will another team pursue Jackson, considering the non-exclusive tag?
