The Saints Have Moved Up In Latest Odds To Win NFC

Having a starting-caliber quarterback could take you a long way in the National Football League, especially if you’re mostly set at every other position.

That seems to be the case with the new-look New Orleans Saints, a team that already boasted a solid defense and some prominent piece in the offense, but that was lacking a solid QB.

And while Derek Carr isn’t Drew Brees by any means, I believe we can all agree that he’ll be a massive upgrade over Jameis Winston, Andy Dalton, and Taysom Hill at the QB position.

If you don’t take our word for it, then just take a look at what oddsmakers think, as Carr’s addition really shook things up in Las Vegas.

The Saints went from +2000 odds to +1100 odds to win the NFC next season, trailing just the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys, and tying them as the fourth-best team in the Conference with the Detroit Lions.

Needless to say, that would also mean that they’re the biggest candidate to take the lesser NFC South by storm, which doesn’t seem like a surprise, considering those teams’ current picture.

All of their rival teams don’t even have a starting QB as of now, not to mention their defensive woes.

Carr has been in the spotlight for the better part of his career, and not even all those game-winning drives have been enough to silence his critics.

Now, he’ll have the ultimate chance to prove that he can be a star in this league.
